Eric S. Harrington grew up in Philadelphia, raised by his hardworking single mother and family members. His early goal was to survive the challenges black men faced and escape violence through football, hoping it would lead to a career as a professional athlete and philanthropist. His mother, however, prioritized education and worked tirelessly to give him academic opportunities as a backup plan. Eric graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and the University of Dayton with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in business. Eric would find other ways to give back to his community by creating two non-profit organizations Christian Youth Coalition (“Stop The Youth Violence Program”), and Revitalization Program of Philadelphia (“Restructure The Philadelphia School Infrastructure”). The proceeds from the book will support these types of non-profit organizations: Children Cancer Research & Cure Organizations; Women & Children Against Abuse organizations; US Veteran Support Organizations and Youth Homeless Organizations.
