About The Book

YOUNG BLACK AND GIFTED

The book reflects on how the United States of America has historically been unkind to black men as a whole through the eyes of a young black male growing up on the streets of Philadelphia. The obstacles and challenges he will face not knowing if he will live past the age of 18.  With the help of his single mom, the village of relatives and his encounter with God, he’s able to discover his gift, identity and purpose.

I hope that young people will read this book and understand how their participation in our government and world affairs is essential in shaping the future of our country. The future greatness of the United States of America lies in the hands of our youth. I pray to God that I will witness this change in our country before I transition to my new home in heaven.” Eric S. Harrington

Excerpt from the Book

Most black men born in the United States of America were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths. I want to give glory to God because He brought me through the challenges of life to write this story for others to read and to inspire them to choose “good” and allow God’s angels to guide their path despite the “evil” they may encounter along the way. When you choose “good” over “evil,” it helps you connect with the angel assigned to you. Your angel will show you the options that will enable you to make the right choices in life and remind you of how much you need God.
