About The Book

YOUNG, BLACK & GIFTED:

TURNING MY DREAMS INTO REALITY WHILE STRIVING FOR GREATNESS

The book reflects on how the United States of America has historically been unkind to black men as a whole, and why it is crucial to acknowledge the pain and suffering that our ancestors endured from the moment they were forcibly brought to this country. It will highlight a few significant events that will help shed light on the anguish and torment that black men have faced then and continue to face today.

About Eric S. Harrington

Eric S. Harrington grew up in Philadelphia, raised by his hardworking single mother and a supportive community. His early goal was to survive the challenges black men faced and escape violence through football, hoping it would lead to a career as a professional athlete. His mother, however, prioritized education and worked tirelessly to give him academic opportunities as a backup plan. Eric graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and the University of Dayton with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in business. Today, he gives back through his nonprofits for youth violence prevention and school infrastructure, with proceeds from his book funding these causes.
