Mariclaire Norton has been interested in writing fiction since high school. She is a published poet in a Poetry Anthology, and in high school wrote and directed a play based on ‘The Crucible’. Ms. Norton has long been a fan of fantasy fiction with authors such as Anne McCaffrey, J.R.R. Tolkien, and J.K. Rowling being her inspiration and idols. She is also a long-time student of Celtic and Norse mythology. Those familiar with these subjects will find some references to these cultures in her writings. Now retired, Ms. Norton spends her time volunteering as a therapeutic music harper at a local hospital when she isn’t writing or watching her three grandchildren.
This book is the first of the trilogy that tells of the journey and the struggles Tara Prima of Eirlandia had to endure. Tara’s long-lost journal is found centuries later by Maeve, the present-day queen’s guard and advisor. As Maeve reads the journal, she soon becomes immersed in the tale of Tara Prima. Tara’s tale begins with a kidnapping, but she soon makes alliances and, consequently, some enemies to get to the truth, giving you a tale of nail-biting surprises and mysteries unraveling. “Tara’s Journey” is an enthralling fantasy story with many twists and turns throughout the book revolving around Tara’s magical gem, the Lifenstone. It will leave you breathless and desperate for the next chapter in this chronicle.
