An invitation to embrace the life you have and not let anyone or anything take away its joys, or force you to live in despair and sadness.
I write this book for you all as an invitation to embrace the life you have. Take measures to change your life. Do not let anyone bury it, physically or mentally! Be happy. Life is too short.
Celebrate your life for all it can be for you and your children. The journey my daughter took shortened her life and left her children motherless. We all take paths in our lives, never knowing where they will lead us. Let yours be a “happy journey.” If it’s not the right path, take another.
Don’t be afraid to take a chance. Embrace who you are.
I share the story of my daughter and the devastating impact of her relationship with a mentally unstable partner. My daughter was a strong, beautiful, and talented woman, yet she was brought to her breaking point by this toxic relationship. After her tragic death, her children were left behind, neglected, and without proper care—unable to be fed, clothed, or nurtured.
I feel deeply that her story needs to be told. Too many women suffer in silence, too afraid or embarrassed to speak out about the abuse they endure. It’s incredibly sad that some even reach a point where they contemplate suicide as an escape. This story might give you the courage you need to break free from abuse, to rise above fear, and to live a life full of strength and confidence.
Born in Los Angeles, CA to a working class family, I was a happy child, the eldest of four siblings, with a natural love for people and a deep curiosity about learning from others. I married my high school sweetheart and went on to have four children. Throughout my life, I always dreamed of writing a book, but with the demands of raising young children, it seemed impossible at the time. Little did I know in my senior years, this book would be written under the most heartbreaking circumstances.
For over thirty years, I have been a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman. Now, through this book, I hope to reach out to abused women in an effort to save them from the same tragic path my daughter, Dee, endured. With this work, I want to raise awareness and offer hope to prevent others from living a life of fear and suffering.
My daughter passed away. So, why am I writing this book? To empower women who have experienced abuse and neglect to reclaim their lives, embrace their worth, and find the courage to seek help before it’s too late.
My mission is to provide a voice for women who have suffered in silence and to encourage them to seek support and take action before despair takes hold. By sharing my daughter’s story and the painful truths I uncovered in her journal, I aim to shed light on the devastating impact of abuse, inspire change, and offer hope.
A successful entrepreneur and businesswoman who wants to raise awareness and offer hope to prevent others from living a life of fear and suffering.
