Born in Parramatta, NSW, spent my younger years in Western Sydney and after detour to the Gold Coast, I settled into rural NSW life for a good chunk of time. I’ve got two awesome kids – first came my daughter, then my son, who threw us a real curveball. When I was pregnant with him, I suffered a intracerebral haemorrhage. Crazy times, but with a bit of grit, I got through surgery and rehab to welcome him safely.

Watching my kids grow up into these incredible adults has been a wild ride, and just when I thought I’d seen it all, grandkids came along. They call me Yanni, and let me tell you, being a grandparent is a whole new adventure.

On the job front, I’ve spent the past few years running a disability support service, which has been super rewarding and taught me a ton about the real value of health and wellness & encouraged me to spend time learning about that.

After years of jotting down ideas and stories, I finally published my first book. It’s just the start – I’ve got a whole bunch of stories I want to share.

Looking ahead, it’s all about the grandkids. I want to leave behind something meaningful for them, a legacy of love, resilience, and a bit of my adventurous spirit. Life’s a journey, and I’m here for it, learning and growing every day, hoping to inspire them and maybe you too.

My debut book

My first book is all about my awesome grandson, Arthur, who’s navigating life with sensorineural hearing loss. But this book? It’s more than that. It’s a big high five to kids and grown-ups, encouraging everyone to be more open and kind. Through Arthur’s story, you’ll see how he doesn’t let his hearing loss stop him. Instead, he shows us all how endless opportunities and a rocking support system are there for the taking.

“ARTHUR & his red pocket Rockets” is a joy ride through Arthur’s adventures, proving that hearing loss just means experiencing the world’s tunes in a unique way. It’s a book filled with hope, cheering for everyone’s inner strength and shining light on embracing our differences. This book is all about smashing obstacles and living life to the fullest. It’s a heartfelt reminder to see the cool in everyone’s quirks.
